My dad has one! The only problem is people shooting at it. Sad

Other than that I could see it carrying and dropping one balloon. Smile

Many a year ago, I found on the interweb an actual paintball mortar setup, air powered tube an all. Worked alot like a real mortar, but used compressed air instead of the rubber bands to sling it.

Another thing about mortars, it's an indirect fire weapon. The whole idea is to support those at the front with "reasonably" accurate indirect fire support.

Would be cool to brush up on call for fire and immediate suppression and call in some indirect fire...

"Indirect 1 this is Genken, request immediate suppression, over!"

How legit would that be? Mortar holes, with sandbags. Gotta defend your mortar positions as well! It would be most epic!

I still like the water balloon launcher idea.

I have used mortars in games before. They are hillarious. Aiming is pretty much gone, and it seems that when you launch one, all you want to do is watch it fly and then land in the distance. Sounds great until you all get shot. But as for putting them in a game, I am in. The effect is great.

uh actually, I am a mortarman or more precisely a mortar instructor. in retrospect, I have seen 81mm mortar equipment available on open market, (demilled of course). there has to be a way to hook an airline up to it. hmmmmm. We could actually call for fire with a lp/op use sights and stakes, just like the real thing. Man that would be a hoot.

Hey Sarge, you know where we can get an 81mm nerf ball. No, really any idea's. Real military mortar attack with a paintball kicker.

short video of something really cool. The guy kinda messes up a little but no big deal.
